C.A.M. Software / Solid Model Machining

Qualtronic uses GibbsCAM. This is a leading 3D modelling based CAM package designed for machinists.

GibbsCAM's powerful software has an intuitive graphical user interface (GUI). So, machining is a simple matter of point and click, drag and drop. Parts are proved on screen before transmission to our machining centres via our DNC link. The company uses Xpert DNC, which is hardwired to the machine tools.

All machining programmes are held electronically on the company computer server with back-ups being stored securely off site.

Utilising GibbsCAM, Qualtronic is able to machine files from all major brands of CAD systems including DXF, IGES, 'Parasolid' (*.x_t), 'Solidedge' (*.par), 'ACIS' (*.sat) and 'Solidworks' (*.sldprt). The ability to read solid model data means the company has the technology to offer a complex 2D and full 3D machining service (e.g. 3D shapes and moulding dies to 62HRc).
