Equipment & Assembly

Qualtronic uses advanced CNC machining centres and lathes e.g. Mori Seiki, Matsurra, Star, Tornos and Index.
Investment in leading technology is illustrated in the company’s ability to work to the following tolerances:

Turning to 0.0002”/0.005mm
Machining Centres to 0.0003”/0.007mm
SPC is employed by the company and can be arranged to suit customer needs.
To compliment the machining service an additional high level assembly facility provides complete Sub-Assembly capability.

Size
The company is able to work within the following size envelopes:
CNC Turning 0 to 6”/150mm diameter
CNC Machining Centre to 12”/300mm cube

Assembly Resources
An assembly room is used for:
Precision mechanical assembly work and has available a general range of assembly equipment.
The final examination of components (when required) using microscopes, to ensure the integrity of parts, especially when they are very small and intricate.

Grinding Facilities
Jones & Shipman 1400 – Horizontal with Opti-Dress. Stroke = 22”, Width = 7”

General Equipment
A wide range of drilling and tapping equipment is available together with deburring and sawing machinery.

Precision Milling Facilities– Manual
To provide a high quality service we have available:
Bridgeport 9” x 42” with Dro.
Adcock & Shipley horizontal with a table size of 27” X 7”

Material
Material machined include plastics, aluminium, beryllium copper, brass, stainless steel, nickel alloys and aerospace-released materials. The high speed machining of non-ferrous aerospace alloys, beryllium copper for spring connectors and aerospace-released high temperature materials, is a particular feature of our service.

Spark and Wire Erosion Facilities
Spark Erosion. To complement our manufacturing capabilities we have a fully CNC Spark Erosion machine. This machine enables us to offer a complete service to our machined component customers as well as offering spark erosion facilities to other companies.

Wire Erosion. The latest addition to our EDM equipment is a state of the art wire erosion machine. The working envelope is x-500mm, y-300mm & z-200mm. This machine also has an automatic wire feed option and the ability to be programmed offline.

A range of machines are in use covered by:
Hardinge HCT. Diameter = 1.1/2”, Length = 8”
Colchester Triumph with Dro. Diameter = 15.1/4”, Length = 30”
